General Information:Chennai formerly known as Madras is the capital of Tamilnadu and is India’s fourth largest city. Chennai is situated on the Coromandel coast off the Bay of Bengal and boasts of a long history from ancient South Indian empires. The city has evolved in the 20th Century as a service and manufacturing hub. The city is the capital of state Tamilnadu with a population of 4.7 million. It is often referred as Gateway of South India or the cultural capital of South India.

Kamaraj terminal handles domestic flights across 20 destinations in India. The International Terminal names Anna Terminal connects all major International destinations.

Chennai is connected to many cities and towns by super-fast and express trains. The city's 2 main railway stations are Egmore and Madras Central. Chennai is connected to neighbouring cities by Express trains.
